China Urges India Partnership to Boost Tech Innovation Amid Growing Ties

In a bid to bolster ties, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has advocated for enhanced cooperation between China and India, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the positive trajectory in their bilateral relations. During his meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Wang highlighted the need for both nations to intensify high-level exchanges and expand collaborations in areas such as trade, media, cultural, and people-to-people interactions.

Wang underscored the significance of dialogue in managing sensitive issues and called for closer coordination on regional and international matters. He suggested that China and India should jointly promote a multipolar world order and represent the interests of developing countries. The Chinese foreign minister also reiterated Beijing’s support for India as it hosts this year’s BRICS summit, advocating for increased cooperation within the expanded BRICS framework.

Expressing India’s perspective, Jaishankar affirmed the country’s commitment to fostering a positive and cooperative relationship with China. He restated India’s longstanding stances on issues related to Taiwan and Xizang (Tibet), affirming respect for China’s sovereignty in these matters.

The dialogue between the two ministers indicates ongoing efforts by China and India to stabilize their relations and deepen cooperation. This meeting follows recent improvements in their bilateral ties, reflecting a mutual desire to build on the positive developments achieved thus far.
