Việt Nam and China have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their traditional ties, highlighting the spirit of being “both comrades and brothers” as a guiding principle in advancing bilateral relations.
During talks in Beijing, Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping emphasized that the two nations should continue sharing experience on Party building and state governance. He reiterated China’s support for Việt Nam in pursuing a socialist path suited to its conditions and in preparing for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Việt Nam.
In a separate meeting, Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, stressed that both sides remain committed to socialism adapted to their respective contexts. He expressed China’s readiness to strengthen strategic trust, align development strategies, and build a Việt Nam–China community with a shared future of strategic significance.
Zhao also called for deeper exchanges between the National People’s Congress of China and the Vietnamese National Assembly to enhance cooperation, share legislative experience, and provide a stronger foundation for bilateral projects. He underscored the importance of promoting socialist modernization, safeguarding multilateral trade, and maintaining stable supply chains amid global uncertainties.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the Year of Vietnam–China Humanistic Exchange, a milestone celebrated as evidence of their evolving partnership. Leaders of both nations have hailed the relationship as a model of solidarity, mutual support, and cooperation.
