China has called on Japan to address what it perceives as inappropriate remarks and actions by Japanese leaders concerning Taiwan. During a meeting in Beijing, China’s top diplomat Wang Yi emphasized to Takeshi Iwaya, president of the Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade, the need for Japan to adopt a more objective and rational stance toward China.

Wang highlighted the importance of maintaining the political foundation of China-Japan relations, urging Japan to respect historical lessons and commit to peaceful development. He warned against actions that could exacerbate tensions between the two nations, stressing the need for a stable and constructive bilateral relationship.

In response, Iwaya acknowledged the concerns about the current state of Japan-China relations. The meeting underscored the delicate nature of Sino-Japanese relations and the significance of diplomatic engagement in addressing contentious issues.
