Loong Air has inaugurated a new direct flight route connecting Chengdu Tianfu International Airport in China with Taichung International Airport in Taiwan, marking a significant milestone as the airline’s first cross-strait service. This route is set to enhance travel connectivity between southwestern China and central Taiwan, contributing to the growing network of air travel options in the region.
Flights on this new route are scheduled to operate twice weekly, specifically on Tuesdays and Saturdays. This strategic addition is anticipated to facilitate greater accessibility and convenience for travelers looking to explore both regions, thereby fostering closer ties and boosting tourism and business exchanges between the two areas.
With the introduction of the Chengdu route, Taichung International Airport has expanded its offerings to a total of 31 routes, encompassing both operational and announced services. This includes 20 regular routes and 11 charter services, demonstrating the airport’s commitment to diversifying its flight options and enhancing its role as a regional aviation hub.
Chengdu now joins the ranks of Nanjing and Qingdao as the three scheduled cross-strait destinations that Taichung Airport currently serves. This development underscores the airport’s strategic efforts to strengthen its international connectivity and meet the growing demand for cross-strait travel.
