China has called on Japan to address what it perceives as inappropriate remarks and actions by Japanese leaders concerning Taiwan. During a meeting in Beijing, China’s top diplomat Wang Yi emphasized to Takeshi Iwaya, president of the Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade, the need for Japan to adopt a more objective and rational stance toward China.
Wang highlighted the importance of maintaining the political foundation of China-Japan relations, urging Japan to respect historical lessons and commit to peaceful development. He warned against actions that could exacerbate tensions between the two nations, stressing the need for a stable and constructive bilateral relationship.
In response, Iwaya acknowledged the concerns about the current state of Japan-China relations. He assured that his organization would continue to promote dialogue and support efforts aimed at maintaining stable ties between the two countries. The meeting underscored the delicate nature of Sino-Japanese relations and the significance of diplomatic engagement in addressing contentious issues.
