Xi Reaffirms China’s Support for Ukraine Peace Talks in Call with Putin

Chinese President Xi Jinping reiterated on Friday that China will continue to promote peace talks in the Ukraine crisis, regardless of how the conflict unfolds. Emphasizing that complex global issues require thoughtful solutions, Xi reaffirmed China’s consistent stance of advocating diplomatic engagement over confrontation.

In a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Xi expressed China’s support for improved communication between Russia and the United States, highlighting the importance of dialogue in resolving the crisis politically.

Both leaders also agreed to work together to further strengthen China-Russia relations and promote stability in the region. Xi’s remarks signal China’s ongoing intention to play a mediating role in the conflict while maintaining strong bilateral ties with Russia.
