Chinese FM Special Envoy to Visit Cambodia and Thailand for Peace Talks

China’s Foreign Ministry announced that its Special Envoy for Asian Affairs will embark on a shuttle-diplomacy trip to Cambodia and Thailand on December 18 to promote peace amid ongoing border tensions between the two countries.
A spokesperson from China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that, as a close neighbor and friend of both Cambodia and Thailand, China has been actively monitoring the situation and facilitating dialogue to de-escalate the conflict. The envoy’s visit aims to bridge differences and support efforts to restore peace at the earliest possible date.
China reaffirmed its commitment to using diplomatic channels to encourage dialogue and peaceful resolution of disputes in the region.
